Summer is a season of blockbusters films, and Hollywood’s seen things that way at least since Jaws, a generation ago.
This summer, some big-screen adventures await: The Avengers (today, 5.4), Men in Black III (5.25), The Amazing Spider-Man (7.3), and The Dark Knight Rises (7.20).

Avengers Assemble! I’m off to see ‘The Avengers’ 3D today and am anticipating an aternoon of goofy fun! I’m also looking forward to the Spidey re-boot, and especially Dark Knight Rises. DC has gotten Batman correct; I hope they do the same next summer with the Superman re-boot, “The Man of Steel.”
Spiderman (or Spider-Man) is more of an every-person figure than most of the others. It’s easier to identify with him (not easy, just easier!).
