Here’s the last Halloween song for this October. Pet Sematary was a terrible movie, but the Ramones’ song has a catchy hook: “I don’t want to be buried in a pet sematary.” Well, no, of course not — it’s for pets. (It’s spelled sematary in the book and film because the sign for the cemetery displays a child’s misspelling.)
There is, however, another reason to avoid interment in the pet cemetery from the film and the Stephen King book on which the film is based. It’s that reason that makes Pet Sematary a suitable Halloween song…
