Daily Bread for 10.25.26: Tom Tiffany’s Futile Defense of His Pro-Trump Record

Good morning.

Sunday in Whitewater will be partly sunny with a high of 74. Sunrise is 7:20 and sunset is 5:56 for 10 hours 36 minutes of daylight. The moon will be full later tonight.

U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany, once an election denier and now the WISGOP candidate for governor, almost always votes with Donald Trump. See FREE WHITEWATER, Tiffany Has Voted with Trump Nearly Always, October 23, 2026. The details of Tiffany’s solid support of Trump are incontrovertible:

U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany, the northern Wisconsin Republican running for governor in the Nov. 3 election, has rarely diverged from supporting President Donald Trump since Trump began his second term in January 2025.

UCLA/Voteview found Tiffany’s support for Trump at 93% in 2025 House of Representatives votes.

Congressional Quarterly put it at 99%.

Two other ratings put Tiffany’s support at 100%.

See Tom Kertscher, Has Tom Tiffany supported Donald Trump’s positions the vast majority of the time?, Wisconsin Watch, September 17, 2026.

Faced with what any Wisconsinite can verify, Tiffany and his campaign hope that residents believe that his actual voting record is simply a delusion:

But Mr. Tiffany did not say that he was for Mr. Trump, though most hunters in the room, and across the state, likely knew that. After all, the president’s endorsement of Mr. Tiffany in January described the Wisconsin conservative in almost servile terms: “He has always been at my side.”

Mr. Tiffany, like other Republicans, has accused Democrats in the past of suffering from “Trump derangement syndrome.” But as Wisconsin voters have increasingly soured on the president, with 60 percent disapproving of his performance according to a Sept. 30 survey conducted by the Marquette University Law School, Mr. Tiffany has shown signs of a kind of Trump avoidance syndrome.

Emphasis added. See Robert Draper, In a Swing State Race, He’s Known as a Trump Ally. He’s Trying to Change That, New York Times, October 23, 2026.

‘Trump derangement syndrome’ is a dimwitted child’s defense — Tiffany’s submissive pro-Trump voting record is undeniable.

A physician who identifies a malignant tumor is not suffering from ‘cancer derangement syndrome.’ The disease is in the patient, not in the physician’s discovery of it.

There is no derangement in seeing what Trump has done and Tiffany has supported. The avoidance and derangement are in refusing to see it.
